2020 Vauxhall Corsa SE 1.2L Petrol · XM03 CRM

Recurring minor mechanical and interior component failures define the history of this Vauxhall Corsa, which has transitioned from a series of specific component faults and advisories to two consecutive clean passes, the latest of which occurred on 9 December 2025. While the vehicle has successfully cleared its most recent inspections, the record shows a pattern of intermittent issues involving visibility systems, seat adjustment mechanisms, and powertrain fluid integrity. The resolution of these faults suggests that the vehicle has been brought back to a compliant state, though the history of a gearbox oil leak and brake disc wear necessitates a focused inspection of these areas during any physical appraisal. Accumulating 50,811 miles over approximately six years results in an average of roughly 8,468 miles per annum, a figure that aligns with standard usage expectations for this class of vehicle. This consistent annual mileage suggests the car has remained in regular operation rather than experiencing prolonged periods of inactivity, which typically mitigates the risks associated with static storage such as seized calipers or degraded seals. However, the moderate mileage indicates that the vehicle has reached a stage where high-wear items, particularly those previously flagged in the MOT history, may require proactive monitoring or replacement in the near future. Prospective buyers should conduct a rigorous test drive with particular attention to the transmission and braking systems. Given the previous advisory regarding a gearbox oil leak, check the underside of the vehicle for any fresh fluid accumulation or dampness around the bell housing and driveshaft seals. During the drive, listen for any whining or resistance when shifting through the gears, as these can be early indicators of internal transmission stress. Simultaneously, the historical note regarding front brake disc wear warrants a physical check of the disc surfaces for scoring, pitting, or significant lips at the outer edges. Any steering wheel vibration or pedal pulsation during firm braking may indicate that these components have reached the end of their service life and require replacement. Finally, ensure that all interior and safety features are fully operational, as the vehicle has previously failed on a malfunctioning seat adjustment mechanism and washer system. Test the driver seat rails to ensure they lock securely in every position without play, and verify that the windscreen washer jets provide a strong, consistent flow across the entire sweep of the wipers. As the vehicle has previously been flagged for ineffective wiper performance, observe the blades during operation to ensure they clear the glass cleanly without streaking or juddering, which could otherwise obscure visibility in adverse weather conditions.
