2007 Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0L Diesel · YF57 GZS

The vehicle remains roadworthy but the maintenance trend shows a clear shift towards escalating suspension and braking component wear. The most recent test in January 2026 at 148,382 miles identified a cluster of advisories focused on the front end and brakes. While the vehicle passed, the accumulation of faults related to the anti-roll bar linkages and suspension arm ball joints, alongside a worn front wheel bearing, indicates that components are now reaching the end of their functional life and require proactive replacement. At 148,382 miles over 19 years, the Vivaro has averaged approximately 7,800 miles per year, which is consistent with typical light commercial use for its age. The mileage data shows a steady usage pattern, with roughly 10,600 miles covered between March 2024 and January 2026, and another 9,600 miles between January 2022 and March 2024. This consistent mileage suggests the vehicle has not sat excessively, but the age-related degradation of rubber and metal components is more significant than high-mileage stress. A buyer must prioritize a structural inspection of the underbody, as the 2024 record noted widespread rust and the 2022 test specifically flagged corroded jacking points and brake pipes. While no structural holes were recorded, the progression of surface corrosion poses a long-term risk to the chassis. The braking system also requires close attention; the damp offside rear caliper from 2023 and the pitted, scored rear discs noted in 2026 suggest the braking hardware is being neglected or is prone to seizing. Physical inspection should focus on the front suspension geometry to verify the play in the ball joints and wheel bearing flagged by the tester. The advisories regarding front tyres being near the legal limit in early 2026 suggest immediate expenditure will be necessary. Given the historical oil leak noted in 2022, the engine bay should be checked for fresh seepage to ensure the condition has not worsened into an excessive leak.
