2008 Audi A4 2.0L Diesel · YG58 AHC

The 2008 Audi A4 presents a stable roadworthiness trend, with the most recent test on 15 November 2023 at 146,023 miles returning a pass and no defects recorded. Prior to that, the vehicle failed the MOT on 12 December 2022 at 141,603 miles, yet the DVSA entry lists no defects, indicating an administrative or unrecorded cause rather than a mechanical fault. The surrounding passes in November 2021 at 136,547 miles and July 2019 at 125,036 miles show no advisories, so the maintenance record reads as clean across the available span. At roughly 18 years old the car shows 146,023 miles, an average of about 8,112 miles per year, which is typical for the age. The gap between the May 2018 test at 116,855 miles and the July 2019 test at 125,036 miles is the longest interval in the record, but accumulation stays steady at under 10,000 miles yearly. Sparse testing before 2018 limits insight into early-life wear, though the later clean passes suggest consistent if minimal use. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the vehicle's age and mileage. The 2022 failure with no listed defect warrants confirmation that no latent issue such as a binding caliper or emissions fault was overlooked at retest. Structural corrosion around sills and subframes should be checked, as the MOT history carries no advisories that would evidence prior rust treatment. Given the clean trailing record, previous owners appear to have kept basic statutory testing current, though the unexplained 2022 failure hints at either lapsed paperwork or a fault cleared before documentation. Verify service history against the 8,000-mile annual use to confirm drivetrain and consumable intervals were met.
