2014 BMW 640 3.0L Diesel · YH14 AEA

This vehicle demonstrates an exceptionally stable roadworthiness trend. The most recent MOT on 7 October 2025 at 122,602 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. This clean bill of health is consistent with the four previous tests dating back to December 2021, indicating a vehicle that has been maintained to a high standard to avoid any advisory notices or failures. The mileage pattern is consistent with typical usage for a twelve year old executive saloon. Between the December 2021 test at 101,316 miles and the October 2025 test at 122,602 miles, the car covered 21,286 miles. This averages to roughly 5,300 miles per year over the last four years, which is lower than the overall lifetime average of 10,217 miles per year. Such a steady accumulation of mileage suggests regular use rather than prolonged periods of standing, which helps preserve rubber seals and battery health. The absence of any recorded defects or advisories over a five year period is rare for a vehicle of this age and mileage. There are no recurring flags for suspension bushes, brake disc corrosion, or exhaust emissions. The record implies a proactive approach to maintenance where consumables were likely replaced before they reached a failure threshold. A physical inspection should still focus on common wear points for this chassis that MOT tests sometimes overlook. Check for oil leaks around the engine gaskets and inspect the condition of the suspension dampers for weeping. While the MOT history is flawless, a buyer should verify service records to ensure the engine oil and transmission fluids have been changed in line with manufacturer intervals.
