The vehicle’s most recent MOT, conducted just ten months ago on 2025-07-19 at 42,678 miles, confirms it remains roadworthy with no defects recorded. Over the past five annual tests—all passing without fail—the record demonstrates a stable maintenance pattern, free of recurring advisories or major failures. This consistency suggests the vehicle has been subjected to regular, if not meticulous, servicing, though the absence of defects does not preclude hidden wear in high-stress areas like suspension bushes or drivetrain components. The lack of advisories on critical systems such as exhaust emissions or structural integrity further supports a low-risk profile for immediate mechanical failure. The recorded mileage of 42,678 miles over nine years—approximately 4,742 miles annually—indicates unusually light usage for a vehicle of this age. The steady, low-mileage increments between tests (e.g., 3,119 miles between 2021-06-09 and 2022-07-16, and 3,381 miles between 2022-07-16 and 2023-07-22) imply prolonged periods of inactivity, which could either reflect careful storage or limited operational use. While low mileage generally correlates with reduced wear on consumables like brakes and tyres, it does not eliminate the risk of degradation in less frequently exercised systems, such as automatic transmission fluid or fuel system components. The gap between the 2021 and 2022 tests—just over a year—is standard, but the consistency of the mileage suggests no abrupt changes in usage patterns. A prospective buyer should prioritise an in-person inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear coil springs and bushes, given the vehicle’s age and the potential for fatigue cracks or corrosion. The absence of advisories on braking systems in the MOT history does not rule out uneven wear or binding calipers, so a thorough check of brake discs, pads, and hydraulic lines is essential. Tyre tread depth, while not flagged in past tests, should be verified, as the low mileage could mask uneven wear or age-related degradation. Additionally, the fuel system, including injectors and fuel lines, warrants scrutiny, as prolonged periods of disuse may lead to clogging or corrosion. Finally, the underbody and wheel arches should be inspected for corrosion, especially around the suspension mounts and exhaust system, to confirm no structural compromise has occurred during periods of storage.
