2015 Audi A1 1.4L Petrol · YP65 LWS

The vehicle most recently passed its MOT on 24 October 2025 with no defects recorded. Reviewing the history back to 2018, the maintenance trend is exceptionally stable, as the car has consistently passed every annual inspection without a single recorded failure or advisory. This suggests a vehicle that has been meticulously maintained or has experienced very little mechanical stress over the last eight years. With a recorded mileage of 33,637 miles over an eleven year period, the vehicle has averaged approximately 3,058 miles per year. This is significantly lower than the national average for a car of this age. While this results in minimal wear on the drivetrain and interior, such low usage often indicates long periods of standing or very short urban journeys, both of which can introduce specific mechanical vulnerabilities that are not always captured in a standard MOT test. Given the clean MOT record and low mileage, the primary focus for a physical inspection should be on age-related degradation rather than wear-and-tear. You must carefully examine the tyre sidewalls for signs of perishing or hairline cracking, as tyres can lose their structural integrity through age even if the tread depth remains legal. Additionally, check the brake discs for heavy surface corrosion and ensure the calipers are not binding, which is a common occurrence in vehicles that spend extended periods stationary. It is also essential to verify the service history to ensure that engine oil and other critical fluids have been changed based on time intervals rather than mileage alone, as lubricants degrade chemically over time. Check the health of the 12V battery, as infrequent use can lead to premature failure. Finally, inspect the rubber suspension bushes and coolant hoses for signs of drying or cracking, and listen for any unusual knocks or squeaks during the test drive that may indicate rubber components have hardened due to lack of regular articulation.
