2005 Honda Jazz 1.2L Petrol · YR05 WUL

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, though the recent history suggests inconsistency in pre-test preparation. The most recent MOT conducted in May 2023 at 82,906 miles resulted in a failure with no recorded defects, which is an anomaly that typically indicates a specific component failure or an administrative oversight. Despite this, the vehicle maintained a clean record for several years prior, indicating that the core mechanical and structural components remained within acceptable tolerances during those earlier inspections. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 21-year-old Honda, averaging approximately 4,000 miles per year. Between June 2020 at 72,819 miles and May 2023 at 82,906 miles, the car covered only 10,087 miles over three years. This low usage generally reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, but long periods of standing can sometimes lead to the age-related degradation of rubber components, such as suspension bushes and seals, and may cause surface corrosion on brake discs if the vehicle is not driven frequently enough to keep them clear. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on structural integrity and undercarriage corrosion, as low-mileage cars of this era often suffer from hidden rust in sills and wheel arches. Given the failure in 2021 and 2023 without specific defect descriptions, it is vital to check for fluid leaks or perished rubber hoses that might have triggered a re-test failure. Examine the state of the tyres for cracking or sidewall damage, as low mileage does not prevent age-related rot in vehicles that remain stationary for many months at a time.
