The most recent MOT on 16 February 2026 was a pass, but it was only achieved after the tester was allowed to adjust the internal head‑light aim and re‑check the lights. The same day a failed test (13 Feb 2026) recorded a number of serious defects: both rear direction indicators were the wrong colour, the off‑side headlamp aim was clearly incorrect, the parking‑brake lever showed excessive movement, the near‑side front suspension arm ball‑joint dust cover no longer prevented dirt ingress, and the front‑suspension arm itself was flagged. Those items are all safety‑critical and indicate that the car was not road‑worthy at that point. Looking back through the MOT record, a pattern of deteriorating suspension and braking components emerges. In May 2023 the car already had worn tyres on all four corners, pitted brake discs and a slight play in the off‑side rear anti‑roll‑bar ball joint. By January 2025 the front exhaust mounting was reported as broken off – a defect that can lead to exhaust leaks and increased fire risk. In early 2026 the parking‑brake lever adjustment and the missing dust cover on the front suspension arm re‑appear, suggesting that the earlier suspension wear has not been fully remedied. The headlamp aim problem also recurs, implying that the alignment of the lighting system is not being maintained. Overall the trend is worsening rather than stabilising. The car moved from a clean MOT in February 2024 to a series of increasingly serious defects over the next two years.
