A pattern of front-end suspension and steering wear has emerged in recent years, characterized by major failures involving a fractured nearside front coil spring in 2024 and an offside front track rod end ball joint in March 2026. Despite these specific component failures, the vehicle achieved a clean pass on 2026-03-09 following the necessary repairs, suggesting a trend of reactive maintenance on wear-and-tear items rather than chronic structural decay. The recorded mileage of 82,786 miles is consistent with typical usage for a thirteen-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 6,368 miles per year. This steady accumulation suggests the vehicle has avoided the risks associated with prolonged stagnation, such as perished seals or seized calipers, while also avoiding the accelerated drivetrain and bushing wear often found in high-mileage examples. Given the history of front-end failures, a test drive should focus on the precision of the steering and the stability of the front suspension. Listen for any knocking or clunking sounds when traversing uneven surfaces or during low-speed maneuvering, which could indicate further wear in the steering rack or remaining suspension bushings. Any perceptible pull to one side or vibration through the steering wheel may suggest that the previous repairs to the track rod end or coil spring have not been fully aligned. Verification of the onboard equipment is necessary as a missing spare wheel was noted as an advisory in 2021. While the 2026 pass was clean, the previous record of a worn offside front tyre in 2023 warrants a close inspection of the current tyre tread depths and a check for uneven wear patterns across the front axle, which would further indicate potential alignment issues stemming from the prior suspension failures.
