Driveshaft / wheel hub nut safety recall (R/2026/013)
SeriousIn February 2026 Omoda & Jaecoo UK issued safety recall R/2026/013 (campaign TUB-2601.022.01) after market feedback found a few limited instances of an improperly locked driveshaft nut on Omoda 5 models, which may cause wheel vibration and abnormal noise and, left unchecked, risks the wheel detaching while driving. Dealers must inspect the driveshaft nut and carry out corrective work free of charge where non-conformity is found. UK registers list Omoda 5s built from late 2023 into 2026. A loose wheel at speed can cause loss of control, so this is safety-critical: buyers should confirm by VIN that the inspection was completed and recorded, as coverage depends on the exact build date.
Symptoms: Vibration through the steering wheel, seat or floor while driving, Abnormal whirring, knocking or grinding noise from a front wheel...
Est. repair cost: £0 (free dealer repair under recall)
