2021 Mercedes-Benz B 1.3L Petrol · 2 JCJ

A pattern of tyre wear and degradation emerged in the 2025 MOT, though the most recent test on 04 August 2026 shows no recorded defects. This indicates a recent improvement in the vehicle's roadworthiness following the advisory issues noted the previous year. While the 2024 and 2026 results were clean, the presence of advisories regarding tyre condition in 2025 suggests that consumable components have required attention to maintain compliance. The vehicle has covered 43,085 miles over its five-year lifespan, representing an average annual accumulation of approximately 8,617 miles. This usage profile is consistent with typical UK driving patterns for a vehicle of this age. Mechanically, this level of mileage suggests that while the drivetrain and major structural components have not been subjected to high-intensity long-distance use, the vehicle has seen enough regular movement to necessitate standard maintenance of consumables such as tyres, brake pads, and suspension bushes. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the condition of the rear tyres, specifically addressing the issues flagged in 2025 regarding edge wear and surface cracking or perishing. During a test drive, it is essential to inspect the rear tyres for any signs of uneven tread wear, which could indicate underlying issues with wheel alignment, camber settings, or worn suspension components such as control arm bushes or shock absorbers. Listen for any rhythmic thumping or uneven road noise from the rear axle, which may signal that the previous tyre issues were symptomatic of wider suspension geometry problems. Beyond the tyres, the clean 2026 record means there are no immediate structural or braking defects highlighted, but the recent history of tyre degradation warrants a thorough visual inspection of the entire tread surface on all four wheels. Check for any bulging in the sidewalls or further signs of perishing that may have occurred since the last inspection. Ensure the steering feels centered and that there is no pulling to either side when driving on a level surface, as this will confirm whether the previous edge wear was a result of simple tyre age or a persistent mechanical misalignment.
