2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.3L Petrol · 71 RE

A consistent record of clean MOT results over the last five years defines this vehicle's recent history, with the most recent test on 25 September 2025 showing no defects. This pattern of passing consecutive inspections without recorded failures or advisories suggests a period of stable roadworthiness across the 2021 to 2025 testing cycle. The absence of flagged issues regarding emissions, braking systems, or structural integrity in these recent examinations indicates that no immediate mechanical failures have been identified by the DVSA testing stations during these annual checks. The recorded mileage of 28,526 miles against a 2006 manufacture date represents an unusually low annual accumulation of approximately 1,426 miles per year. This usage profile indicates the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary or has been used very sparingly over its twenty-year lifespan. While low mileage reduces the wear on certain mechanical components like engine internals and transmission gears, such infrequent use can lead to the degradation of rubber components and seals that are subject to age rather than distance. Given the low annual mileage and the long intervals between use, a prospective buyer should focus on components that are sensitive to stagnation. During a test drive, pay close attention to the operation of the braking system for any signs of binding or uneven deceleration, which can occur if calipers are not frequently exercised. Listen for any irregular noises from the suspension bushings or dampers when navigating uneven surfaces, as rubber elements can perish or harden when a vehicle remains stationary for extended periods. Further inspection should include a thorough check of all fluid levels and the condition of various hoses and belts to ensure they have not become brittle. It is also advisable to monitor the engine for any signs of oil weeping from gaskets or seals, as these can develop when seals are not regularly lubricated by moving parts. Checking the integrity of the exhaust system and ensuring there are no unusual vibrations or smells will help confirm that the low-use profile has not resulted in any overlooked age-related deterioration.
