Common Problems with the
2026 Bugatti Tourbillon

The Tourbillon's entirely new powertrain combines a naturally aspirated Cosworth V16 with three electric motors and a 24.8 kWh battery. This is uncharted territory for Bugatti — the interaction between combustion and electric power, battery thermal management, and motor calibration may reveal early issues. The battery must be maintained at optimal temperature and charge.

The Tourbillon uses a new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (longitudinally mounted at the rear, unlike the Chiron's front-mounted unit). This is a completely new unit and its long-term reliability is unproven. Early production cars may require software refinements as Bugatti learns from real-world usage.

The Tourbillon's centerpiece is a fully analog instrument cluster designed and manufactured by Swiss watchmaker Concepto, featuring mechanical gears and titanium components. While designed to be timeless, this intricate mechanism may require specialist servicing. A crash or impact damage to the cluster would be exceptionally expensive to repair.
