The 2003 facelift introduced the Pektron Security Control Unit (SCU), which replaced the previous relay-based electrical system. Unfortunately, the Pektron unit is notoriously unreliable, with internal relay failures affecting central locking, wipers, horn, and key fob operation—making late cars a gamble without tested electrics.
