2021 Volkswagen Golf Life TDI S-A 2.0L Diesel · AAZ 73

The maintenance trend for this 2021 Volkswagen Golf Life TDI S-A is entirely stable, reflecting a mechanically sound vehicle with no recorded defects. The most recent MOT test on 13 May 2025 at 16,493 miles passed with zero advisories or failures, mirroring the clean bill of health issued on 16 May 2024 at 13,191 miles. This consistent record indicates the vehicle has been kept in good working order, with no recurring mechanical or structural issues flagged by DVSA testers. The mileage accumulation is notably low for a vehicle of this age, averaging roughly 3,300 miles per year. Between the 2024 test at 13,191 miles and the 2025 test at 16,493 miles, the car covered exactly 3,302 miles over a twelve-month period. Such low annual mileage suggests the vehicle has been used primarily for short, local journeys rather than sustained motorway driving. While the MOT data is sparse, comprising only two clean passes, the steady and low mileage increase does not point to any sudden, high-wear usage spikes. Despite the flawless MOT history, a low-mileage diesel engine used predominantly for short trips warrants a thorough in-person inspection. Buyers should examine the diesel particulate filter for potential clogging, a common issue when vehicles fail to reach optimal operating temperatures regularly. Exhaust emissions should be checked for excessive smoke upon cold startup, and the condition of the timing belt and ancillary drive belts must be verified, as low mileage can mask age-related rubber perishing. Suspension bushes and tyre sidewalls also require close scrutiny; prolonged standing or infrequent use can cause flat spots and cracking, even if tread depth remains legally adequate. Inspect the brake discs and calipers for surface corrosion, which can develop on vehicles that sit idle for extended periods, potentially leading to binding or uneven pad wear.
