2010 Audi A3 Sport 138 TDI 2.0L Diesel · BFZ 4023

The 2010 Audi A3 Sport TDI presents a notably clean MOT record with no defects recorded across four documented tests, indicating a stable and well-maintained condition through to the most recent pass on 6 August 2025 at 115,213 miles. That test carried zero advisories or failures, which is unusual for a 15-year-old diesel hatchback and suggests attentive ownership. The maintenance trend is stable to improving, with no recurring faults or emerging mechanical concerns visible in the official DVSA data. The mileage pattern reveals a gap of over six years between the 2019 and 2025 tests, with only 804 miles added between June 2019 (114,409 miles) and August 2025 (115,213 miles). This indicates the vehicle saw very light use or possibly stood idle for extended periods during that window. Prior to 2019, the car was driven more regularly, covering roughly 10,000 to 11,000 miles per year between 2017 and 2019. The current annualised average of approximately 7,200 miles is typical for the vehicle's age, but the recent low-mileage period warrants attention to components that deteriorate through age and lack of use rather than wear alone. Despite the clean paperwork, a physical inspection should focus on areas that MOT tests do not fully stress-test. The rear brake calipers and discs on these A3 models are prone to binding and corrosion, particularly after long stationary periods. Tyre sidewall condition and date codes deserve close scrutiny, as rubber perishes regardless of tread depth. The timing belt and tensioner service history should be verified, as failure on this TDI engine results in catastrophic valve damage. A thorough underbody inspection for structural corrosion is advisable, especially around the rear suspension mounting points, inner wing arches, and subframe. Diesel particulate filter health and EGR valve operation should be assessed through a road test, as short-journey use can accelerate soot buildup. The dry, defect-free MOT record is encouraging, but the six-year testing gap means a buyer should treat the paperwork as a starting point rather than a guarantee of underlying condition.
