2004 Honda CR-V 2.0L Petrol · BP04 AKJ

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2022-12-15 at 169,856 miles recorded a pass with no defects, but the preceding test on 2022-12-14 at 169,839 miles resulted in a fail despite no defects noted. This inconsistency suggests potential administrative or procedural issues rather than mechanical concerns. The 2021 and 2020 tests similarly showed no defects, indicating a stable maintenance record over the past four years. However, the absence of recent testing beyond 2022 raises questions about ongoing compliance and the vehicle’s current condition. The mileage progression reveals a significant jump from 157,035 miles in 2021 to 169,856 miles in 2022, an increase of 12,821 miles within 12 months. This exceeds the average annual mileage of 7,721 miles for the vehicle’s age, implying heavier usage or potential odometer discrepancies. The sparse MOT data between 2020 and 2022, with only two tests recorded, limits insight into intermediate maintenance trends. The lack of recurring defects in the history suggests the owner prioritized basic compliance, but the extended gap since 2022 means critical components may have deteriorated unnoticed. A buyer should conduct a thorough inspection of the suspension system, particularly the coil springs and bushings, given the high mileage and potential for wear. The braking system, including calipers and discs, warrants scrutiny for corrosion or uneven wear, as these issues often emerge with extended use. Structural integrity should also be assessed, as rust or panel damage may have developed over the vehicle’s 22-year lifespan. While the MOT records show no immediate hazards, the absence of recent testing necessitates a professional evaluation to confirm the vehicle’s roadworthiness.
