2012 Vauxhall Astra 1.6L Petrol · DN62 AAO

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, though the record shows a significant gap in recent testing. The most recent MOT on 27 August 2022 at 104,004 miles passed with no recorded defects, following a failure just one day prior at the same mileage. This suggests a minor issue was rectified immediately to secure the pass, but the vehicle has now not undergone a formal DVSA inspection for nearly four years given the current date. The mileage pattern is consistent with typical annual usage for a car of this age, averaging approximately 7,400 miles per year. Between the September 2021 test at 88,854 miles and the August 2022 test at 104,004 miles, the car covered 15,150 miles. This indicates a period of higher use rather than long-term storage. However, the lack of an MOT record since late 2022 means the current mechanical state of the vehicle, particularly its structural integrity and emissions levels, remains unverified by official standards. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components prone to age-related degradation despite the relatively low mileage. Since the history is clean of recurring mechanical faults, the primary risks lie in corrosion on the chassis and exhaust, or the hardening of rubber suspension bushes and bushings. Given the four-year lapse since the last test, a thorough check of brake fluid condition and perished rubber lines is essential to ensure the vehicle has not deteriorated during periods of relative inactivity or age.
