2006 Tiger Supercat E 1 2.0L Petrol · E228 HGU

The vehicle passed its most recent MOT on 30 July 2022 at 4 680 miles, meeting all standards at that time. The maintenance trend is stable; after the carbon‑monoxide failures logged in February 2010 and February 2011, the subsequent tests have been clean with only minor emission adjustments noted in March 2012 and February 2014. No new mechanical faults have appeared, indicating the car has been kept free of structural or drivetrain issues. Mileage accumulates at roughly 234 miles per year, a very low figure for a 20‑year‑old model. MOT entries show incremental increases of only a few hundred miles between tests, confirming minimal wear. The longest gap without an MOT is from July 2022 to the present—over four years—which is unusually long and may raise questions about recent upkeep. A buyer should inspect the exhaust system for corrosion or carbon buildup, given the CO failures recorded in 2010 and 2011. Emission control hardware, including lambda sensors and catalytic converter, must be checked for proper operation. Suspension bushes and coil springs merit close examination for age‑related deterioration, as low‑mileage vehicles can develop hidden rust. Brake discs and calipers should be inspected for binding or uneven wear, despite the absence of brake advisories. Finally, a thorough visual survey for structural rust around wheel arches and underbody is essential, because prolonged stationary periods can promote corrosion even when mileage is low.
