2017 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0L Diesel · EM52 COX

The Volkswagen Tiguan presents a stable roadworthiness profile. The most recent test on 9 April 2025 at 89,149 miles passed with no defects recorded. Five consecutive MOT examinations from 20 February 2021 through to that date returned passes, each showing zero advisories. The maintenance trend is consistent, with no worsening or resolving pattern evident. Recorded mileage stood at 29,077 on 20 February 2021. By 17 February 2022 the odometer read 47,060, then 64,849 on 20 February 2023, and 81,974 on 19 February 2024. That three-year span absorbed roughly 17,000 miles per year, a heavy-use phase above the car’s nine-year average near 9,900 annually. From February 2024 to April 2025 the car added only 7,175 miles, signalling reduced running. Pre-2021 tests are absent from the supplied data, but the unbroken pass sequence suggests prior keepers met statutory upkeep. Testers flagged no binding calipers, failed coil springs, or structural corrosion during any examination. The absence of failures on tyre tread or exhaust emissions implies basic care was not skipped. A buyer should still commission a physical check of brake discs, suspension bushes, and underbody rust protection to reveal latent wear below advisory thresholds. Tyre condition and wiper blades remain consumable items outside MOT annotations and require visual confirmation.
