2017 Land Rover Discovery 2.0L Diesel · J70 CDG

The Discovery presents a clean roadworthiness status with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 7 April 2025 at 51,951 miles passed with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken run of passes since the earliest entry in the supplied history. No advisories or mechanical faults appear across any of the five annual tests, indicating the vehicle has not required rectification work to meet minimum statutory standards. Annual mileage sits well below typical expectations for a nine-year-old 4x4. The record shows 29,213 miles at the June 2021 test, rising to 31,156 by April 2022, 40,165 by April 2023, 43,778 by March 2024, and 51,951 by April 2025. That equates to roughly 5,772 miles per year. The only notable gap is the fourteen-month interval between the 2021 and 2022 tests, otherwise the owner kept testing on a consistent spring cycle. Low use of this nature often means long stationary periods, which can allow corrosion and perished rubber components to develop unseen. Given the absence of recorded faults, the buyer should still commission an independent inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion, as MOT passes with no advisories do not confirm freedom from early-stage rust on chassis members or suspension mounting points. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers warrant physical checks for age-related degradation rather than wear from high mileage. The clean record implies a previous owner who addressed basic upkeep before each test and avoided neglect of consumables. A buyer should verify service history to confirm fluids, tyres, and brake discs were renewed on condition, since the MOT alone cannot evidence routine maintenance on a low-mileage vehicle of this type.
