2002 Yamaha FZS 600 0.6L Petrol · NCZ 4721

This Yamaha FZS 600 lacks any documented MOT history, rendering a formal roadworthiness assessment impossible. Without test records spanning even a single cycle, there is no baseline to evaluate maintenance trends, recurring faults, or the vehicle’s structural integrity. The absence of MOT data also precludes any assessment of whether the bike’s condition aligns with its age—whether it has been neglected, overused, or properly maintained. Until a test is conducted, the only certainty is the complete lack of official verification for critical systems like brakes, suspension, exhaust emissions, or electrical components. Mileage data is entirely absent, which complicates any evaluation of usage patterns. A 2002 model without a single MOT record suggests either extreme neglect, a recent purchase without registration, or possible non-compliance with UK law. Even if the bike has been ridden minimally, the lack of documentation means no verification exists for essential wear items like tyres, chains, or fluid levels. Without mileage context, it’s impossible to determine whether the bike has been stored, abused, or simply overlooked entirely. A prospective buyer must treat this as a high-risk purchase, prioritising an independent inspection of core systems. Given the absence of MOT data, focus on the suspension (bushes, coil springs, and linkages) for wear or binding, as these are common failure points on high-mileage bikes. The brakes—particularly the calipers, pads, and discs—should be checked for uneven wear or corrosion, which often develops when maintenance is inconsistent. The exhaust system must be examined for leaks or structural damage, as these are frequently overlooked until they fail. Additionally, inspect the frame for signs of rust or stress cracks, especially around welds and high-stress areas, as these can compromise structural integrity over time. The electrical system, including lights, switches, and wiring, should also be tested, as neglect often leads to corrosion or failure in connectors.
