2018 Volkswagen Passat 2.0L Diesel · P88 WFL

The 2018 Volkswagen Passat presents a clean roadworthiness profile with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 17 December 2025 at 87,522 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of five consecutive annual passes. No advisories or mechanical faults appear anywhere in the DVSA history, indicating the vehicle has not required rectification work to meet statutory standards across its recorded life. Annual mileage has tracked close to the typical expectation for an eight-year-old car. The records show 57,166 miles in January 2022, rising to 63,710 by January 2023, 72,811 by January 2024, 79,441 by January 2025, and 87,522 by December 2025. That equates to roughly 7,000 to 8,000 miles added each year, with no sudden accumulation spikes or standing gaps. The sparse but consistent test history offers no evidence of neglected use or irregular servicing intervals. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake disc wear, as these components degrade with age even without MOT flags. The absence of corrosion or structural advisories is reassuring, yet the Passat is now past the point where subframe and sill rust can begin on older VAG estates if moisture exposure was poor. Given the fault-free record, previous owners appear to have maintained basic statutory compliance, though no voluntary advisory detail exists to confirm proactive care beyond the test threshold. Verify service book stamps and inspect tyre sidewalls and wiper condition at viewing, since these consumables fall outside MOT failure unless severely degraded.
