2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.6L Petrol · P90 MCW

The Suzuki Grand Vitara presents a stable roadworthiness trend with no active defects. The most recent test on 1 August 2022 at 86,329 miles returned a pass with no advisories recorded, and the preceding four annual tests from 2019 to 2021 also passed cleanly. The only blemish is a failure on 16 April 2019 at 82,796 miles, which the DVSA record shows with no defects listed, followed three days later by a pass on 19 April 2019 at 82,802 miles; this suggests an administrative or presentation issue at the first centre rather than a mechanical fault. Mileage data shows very low annual use for a 2007 vehicle. From the 19 April 2019 test at 82,802 miles to the 1 August 2022 test at 86,329 miles, the vehicle covered just 3,527 miles across three years, averaging under 1,200 miles per year. Earlier, the 2020 test at 84,256 miles and the 2021 test at 84,967 miles confirm a gentle accumulation of around 700 to 1,200 miles annually. Such low figures for a 19-year-old 4x4 imply prolonged standing periods, which often accelerate rubber perishing, brake caliper seizure, and underbody corrosion despite clean MOT sheets. A buyer should physically inspect the suspension bushes, coil springs, and subframe for corrosion given the vehicle's age and likely static storage. The brake discs and calipers warrant close checking for binding or pitting after long idle spells. Although no advisories flag these, the 2019 duplicate test close in mileage hints at a quick retest rather than deep investigation. Given the sparse but clean record, the Grand Vitara shows signs of light, careful use with no recurring mechanical trend. Prospective owners should commission an independent underside inspection before purchase, as MOT passes at low mileage do not exempt a 2007 chassis from age-related structural fatigue.
