2007 Saab 9-5 2.0L Petrol · R200 AAH

The 2007 SAAB 9‑5 remains roadworthy, with the latest MOT on 6 October 2022 at 105 431 miles passing without defects. The maintenance trend appears stable; no recurring issues have been recorded in the two most recent tests. Mileage figures suggest light use. At 105 431 miles over 19 years the vehicle averages roughly 5 549 miles per year, a figure well below the typical annual mileage for a car of this age. The gap between the 2021‑09‑30 test at 99 541 miles and the 2022‑10‑06 test shows a modest 5 890 miles over 13 months, indicating consistent, low‑usage patterns rather than a sudden spike. When inspecting the car in person, focus on components that normally deteriorate with age and mileage. Check the brake system for wear on discs and pads, and verify that calipers operate smoothly. Inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for cracking or excessive play, and confirm that the steering linkages are free of binding. Tyre tread depth and sidewall condition should be measured, as should the condition of wiper blades and the operation of the windscreen washer system. Examine the exhaust for leaks or corrosion, and verify that the catalytic converter and related piping are intact. Finally, assess the vehicle’s structural integrity. Look for rust on the chassis, especially around wheel arches, suspension mounts, and the rear of the vehicle. Inspect the body panels for any signs of corrosion or panel damage that could compromise structural rigidity. A thorough visual and tactile check of these areas will confirm that the car’s mechanical and structural health aligns with the clean MOT record.
