2017 Toyota Hilux 2.4L Diesel · SM17 ADZ

The vehicle currently maintains a stable roadworthiness status, following a consistent maintenance trend. The most recent MOT test conducted on 11 August 2025 at 134,032 miles resulted in a clean pass, indicating that the vehicle meets the minimum safety requirements. While a failure occurred in early August 2024, the issue was rectified within three days to achieve a successful re-test, suggesting the owner is proactive in addressing immediate defects when identified by the tester. The mileage profile reflects heavy, consistent usage, averaging approximately 15,000 miles per year over its nine-year life. Between July 2022 and August 2023, the vehicle covered 17,344 miles, while the period between August 2023 and August 2025 saw another 26,039 miles. This high annual mileage suggests the truck was likely used for commercial or utility duties rather than short-distance commuting. The rate of accumulation puts significant strain on the drivetrain and suspension components, which is typical for a Hilux of this age. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the mechanical areas most susceptible to high-mileage wear. Given the clean records from the last two years, there is no evidence of recurring structural corrosion or persistent brake issues, but the high mileage necessitates a thorough check of the suspension bushes, shock absorbers, and coil springs for signs of fatigue or heavy load-related wear. Inspect the condition of the brake discs and calipers for uneven wear or pitting, as the high mileage often accelerates the degradation of these consumables despite a clean MOT history.
