2006 Jaguar XK 4.2L Petrol · V100 ADW

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2025-06-09 at 93,140 miles recorded a pass with no defects, indicating a stable maintenance trend over the past 18 months. Previous tests from 2024-06-14 (92,884 miles) and 2023-06-05 (92,001 miles) also showed no issues, though a failed test on 2023-06-01 at the same mileage suggests a minor, unresolved concern that was subsequently addressed. The absence of recurring mechanical or structural faults in the latest records implies consistent upkeep, though the 2023 failure warrants scrutiny for potential underlying issues. The vehicle’s mileage of 93,140 miles over 20 years equates to approximately 4,657 miles annually, significantly lower than average usage. This suggests infrequent operation or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate wear on components like rubber seals, suspension bushes, and electrical systems. The MOT history shows regular testing intervals, with no gaps exceeding 12 months, but the lack of defects may reflect either meticulous care or limited exposure to wear. Notably, the 2022-08-08 test at 91,635 miles also passed without issues, reinforcing a pattern of compliance. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for aged bushes or coil springs, as low mileage can mask hidden wear. The exhaust system and brake components, particularly calipers and discs, should be checked for corrosion or binding, which might not surface in MOT tests. While no structural rust or emissions issues were flagged, the 2023 failure—though resolved—highlights the need for a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm the vehicle’s mechanical integrity beyond recorded data.
