2001 Cagiva Navigator 1.0L Petrol · Y144 EGR

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile following a turbulent inspection period. The most recent test conducted on 26 April 2024 at 66,084 miles resulted in a clean pass, indicating that the primary mechanical and structural components met minimum standards. This follows a successful rectification of issues noted earlier that same year, as the vehicle failed an initial test on 11 April but passed just six weeks later at the same mileage. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a twenty-five-year-old machine, averaging 2,643 miles per year. The data shows a significant period of inactivity between May 2022 and April 2024, where the vehicle covered only 248 miles over two years. This suggests the bike sits for long periods, which often reduces mechanical wear on the engine and drivetrain but de-facto invites the degradation of rubber-based components, fluid breakdown, and internal corrosion that an MOT test may not fully capture. A buyer must focus their physical inspection on the risks associated with low-mileage storage. Given the long gaps in use, inspect for perished brake lines, leaking fork seals, and seized brake calipers that may have caused the failure in April 2022. Check the frame for deep-seated corrosion and the swingarm bushings, as stationary vehicles often suffer from moisture retention. Ensure the tyres are scrubbed for age-related cracking rather than just tread depth, as the low mileage suggests they may be past their structural life despite looking fresh.
