2024 Land Rover Range Rover Autobio D Mhev A 3.0L Diesel · 3 JCO

The vehicle presents a mixed picture when it comes to mechanical reliability, with a recent MOT result that remains positive but the mileage data raises some concerns. Over the years, the car has accumulated a substantial 43,889 miles, which translates to roughly 21,944 miles annually—a figure that, while not unprecedented for a 2024 model, suggests a pattern of consistent usage. This level of wear over such a period could indicate increased stress on key systems, particularly if the vehicle has been driven frequently or in challenging conditions. The absence of any recorded defects in the latest MOT test is encouraging, but the long-term accumulation of miles still warrants careful attention to components that experience higher load or exposure. Looking at the mileage breakdown, the vehicle has seen a steady build-up, with no significant gaps in the DVSA records despite the high total. This consistency might reflect a driver who has kept the car relatively stable, though the sheer number of kilometres could have contributed to gradual degradation in suspension bushings, brake components, or exhaust system integrity. On a test drive, it would be important to notice any signs of uneven wear, such as excessive creaking in the suspension, unusual pedal feel, or subtle vibrations when navigating bumps. These indicators could point to underlying issues that have been masked by the overall clean record. Given the usage profile, the buyer should pay particular attention to the condition of the suspension system, especially if the vehicle has been driven on rough terrain or in stop-and-go traffic. Check for any signs of rust or corrosion on the subframe and structural elements, as prolonged standing or frequent exposure to moisture can accelerate this. Additionally, inspect the brake lines and discs for any discoloration or leaks, which could signal wear or improper maintenance. The engine bay should also be examined for oil misting or leaks, as old mileage can affect the lubrication system’s performance. These checks are crucial to ensure that the car remains safe and reliable on the road. This vehicle’s roadworthiness is currently supported by a passing MOT, but the high mileage and its cumulative effect on mechanical parts should not be overlooked. A thorough inspection focusing on the areas flagged in the MOT history will help confirm whether the car remains fit for purpose or if further attention is needed before purchase.
