2001 Bentley Continental 6.8L Petrol · A1 VEK

The vehicle presents a stable maintenance profile with a clean record of passes since the last recorded test. The June 2023 MOT at 4,699 miles showed no defects, indicating the car was in a roadworthy condition at that time. Given the current date of August 2026, the MOT record is now overdue, meaning the vehicle's current legal roadworthiness cannot be verified without a fresh inspection. The mileage history shows extremely low usage, averaging approximately 188 miles per year over its twenty-five-year lifespan. The data reveals significant periods of inactivity, such as the three-year gap between the April 2018 test at 4,056 miles and the April 2021 test at 4,467 miles. While low mileage reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine, such long intervals of standing can lead to degradation of rubber components, seals, and fluid quality. The only recorded failure occurred in January 2011 at 3,285 miles, which involved minor consumable items regarding ineffective windscreen wipers. Since that failure, the vehicle has maintained a clean sheet. A prospective buyer should focus on the effects of long-term storage rather than high-mileage wear. Specifically, inspect the condition of all suspension bushes, tyre sidewalls for age-related cracking, and the integrity of various rubber seals and hoses. Because the car has clearly spent much of its life stationary, a thorough check of the braking system is necessary to ensure calipers are not seizing and that brake fluid has not absorbed moisture. Checking for any signs of corrosion on the underside and verifying that all electrical systems and fluids are in good order will be essential to mitigate the risks associated with such low-frequency use.
