1983 Nissan Stanza 1.6L Petrol · A396 UOX

The Nissan Stanza presents a stable roadworthiness trend, culminating in a clean pass on 3 July 2024 at 46,936 miles with zero advisory items recorded. This follows an equally unblemished test on 26 April 2023 at 46,900 miles, indicating that the vehicle successfully cleared recent compliance inspections without immediate mechanical intervention required by the testing station. The mileage accumulation reflects exceptionally light deployment over the evaluated period, with only 36 miles recorded between the 2023 and 2024 tests. Averaging roughly 1,092 miles per year across its 43-year lifespan, this low-mileage profile points toward long periods of storage or very restricted weekend use. Extended periods of standing frequently introduce specific preservation challenges for classic Japanese hatchbacks, notably fuel degradation, seized hydraulics, and perished rubber components. Prospective buyers must conduct a rigorous physical inspection focusing on structural integrity and corrosion, particularly along the sills, wheel arches, and chassis rails where classic Nissans are historically prone to oxidisation. The brake system requires careful scrutiny to ensure calipers and wheel cylinders are not binding or weeping fluid after prolonged periods of inactivity. Rubber suspension bushes, flexible brake hoses, and engine ancillary seals should also be checked for perth and cracking, as age-related degradation often affects these materials even when mileage remains exceptionally low.
