2008 Vauxhall Corsa Design 1.2L Petrol · AA08 XTH

The current roadworthiness status of this 2008 Vauxhall Corsa Design is stable, with the maintenance trend demonstrating consistent upkeep. The most recent MOT test on 6 May 2023 at 116,400 miles passed without any recorded defects or advisories. This clean bill of health indicates the vehicle met all required safety and emissions standards at that time, though the absence of any recorded faults over two consecutive tests suggests a straightforward service history rather than a heavily scrutinised repair regime. The mileage accumulation aligns closely with typical usage for an eighteen-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 6,467 miles annually. Between the March 2022 test at 105,040 miles and the May 2023 test at 116,400 miles, the car covered 11,360 miles over fourteen months, indicating a period of regular, above-average use. Since the May 2023 test, the recorded mileage has remained static at 116,400 miles as of today, 8 July 2026. This three-year plateau strongly implies the vehicle has been standing idle or driven extremely sparingly, which introduces its own mechanical concerns such as perished rubber suspension bushes, seized brake calipers, and degraded fluids. Despite the clean MOT record, a prospective buyer must physically inspect the mechanical components that deteriorate through inactivity rather than mileage. The three-year mileage plateau means the vehicle requires a thorough check of the braking system for binding calipers and corroded brake discs, alongside an assessment of the tyres for flat spots and sidewall cracking. Suspension bushes and coil springs often perish during prolonged stationary periods, so a close examination of the undercarriage for corrosion and structural integrity is essential. Fluids, particularly brake fluid and coolant, will likely require immediate replacement due to moisture absorption over the static period.
