2008 Vauxhall 1.4L Petrol · AE08 CMG

The Vauxhall presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 8 March 2023 at 80,255 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, matching the clean result from 11 May 2022 at 78,093 miles. Two consecutive tests with zero advisories indicate the vehicle has not shown worsening mechanical condition across the recorded period. The odometer shows remarkably low use for an 18 year old car. Between May 2022 and March 2023 the vehicle covered only 2,162 miles, and total recorded mileage stands at 80,255, equating to roughly 4,459 miles per year. The sparse record shows just two tests across the visible history with no gaps in failure but a long dormancy between entries, suggesting either light running or extended standing periods. Low annual mileage of this nature often masks aged rubber components and corrosion that infrequent movement accelerates. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and subframe structural integrity given the vehicle's age and likely static storage. The MOT history flags no brake disc wear, binding calipers, or exhaust emission faults, yet testers issued no advisories on either date, so latent corrosion beneath sills or wheel arches may sit below the pass threshold. Verify the 80,255 mileage against service books and V5C, as the 2023 figure equals the current recorded mileage with no later test logged before today's date of 8 July 2026. The three year lapse since the last test means the vehicle is now untaxed for MOT purposes and requires immediate retesting before road use.
