2008 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L Diesel · AF58 KUH

The Vauxhall Corsa presents as roadworthy following its most recent MOT pass on 1 May 2025 at 173,159 miles, with the maintenance trend appearing stable across the available record. The May 2025 test shows a failed attempt on the same day at identical mileage with no defects logged, immediately followed by a pass, indicating an administrative or presentation issue rather than a mechanical fault. No advisories or defects appear across any test in the history, so the vehicle shows no worsening pattern of wear or recurring failures. The odometer reads 173,159 miles against an 18-year life, averaging roughly 9,620 miles per year which is typical for a 2008 supermini. Mileage moved from 166,176 in December 2022 to 170,288 by December 2023, then 170,344 four days later, and 173,159 by May 2025. The sparse record leaves a gap between late 2023 and mid-2025 with only about 2,800 miles added, suggesting light use in that period. The December 2023 fail at 170,288 miles with no defects recorded, passing four days later at 170,344, points to a paperwork or test centre error rather than owner neglect. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs and calipers, and underbody structural integrity given the car's age and 173k mileage. The clean MOT trail offers no warning on corrosion or exhaust emissions, but eighteen-year-old Vauxhalls commonly develop sills and subframe rust unseen by the annual test until advanced. Verify the May 2025 same-day fail and pass with the seller to confirm no concealed defect prompted the first attempt. Check tyre tread depth, wiper blades, and fluid condition as basic consumables regardless of the clear record. The lack of advisories across five tests implies previous owners kept the car to minimum legal standard, not that it is free of age-related wear. A pre-purchase mechanical appraisal remains sensible before funds transfer.
