2021 Toyota Corolla Icon HEV CVT 1.8L Hybrid electric · AF71 WZP

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a clear improving maintenance trend. The most recent inspection conducted on 1 April 2026 at 68,694 miles resulted in a clean pass, indicating that all mechanical and safety components currently meet regulatory standards. This follows a period where minor issues were identified and seemingly rectified, suggesting the current ownership is proactive in addressing flagged advisories. The mileage pattern reveals a significant acceleration in usage over the last year. Between the August 2024 test at 29,877 miles and the April 2025 test at 34,100 miles, the car covered only 4,223 miles. However, the vehicle then clocked 34,594 miles in the twelve months leading up to the 2026 test. This average of approximately 13,700 miles per year is high for a five-year-old Corolla, placing higher-than-average demand on the drivetrain, suspension bushings, and braking components. While the MOT history shows no active defects, a buyer should perform a physical inspection of high-wear areas. The previous advisory regarding a cut on the offside front tyre and a deteriorated rear registration plate in 2024 suggests that cosmetic and minor rubber items reach the end of their life and require regular monitoring. Given the recent surge in mileage, the condition of the brake discs and pads should be verified for uneven wear, alongside the shock absorbers, to ensure the increased usage has not caused premature structural fatigue or component degradation.
