2018 Mercedes-Benz B-Class 2.1L Diesel · AJ02 JAB

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz B-Class presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent test on 27 March 2025 at 39,494 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Across five consecutive annual or biennial examinations from October 2021 to March 2025, the vehicle cleared every test without a single advisory or failure. This unbroken clean record indicates the previous keeper addressed wear before each examination and kept the car to a sound standard. The mileage pattern shows light use for an eight-year-old vehicle. The odometer read 13,642 miles at the October 2021 test, then jumped to 27,470 miles by October 2022, a gain of nearly 14,000 miles in twelve months. From that point the accumulation slowed sharply: 31,716 miles in April 2023, 34,381 miles in March 2024, and 39,494 miles in March 2025. The car now averages roughly 4,937 miles per year. Such low yearly coverage with a period of standing implies suspension bushes, brake calipers, and tyres may have aged through inactivity rather than worn from distance. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection despite the clean MOT trail. The records flag no corrosion, exhaust, or structural issues, yet the long idle stretches between 2021 and 2022 and the low annual totals raise the risk of perished rubber components, flat-spotted tyres, and lightly seized brake discs from disuse. A technician should measure coil spring condition, check for binding calipers, and confirm underbody structural integrity where road salt exposure may hide. Given the sparse but fault-free history, the vehicle shows no recurring mechanical trend requiring concern. The previous owner clearly avoided skipped tests and basic neglect. Verify service stamps against the low mileage and commission a pre-purchase check on consumables before completion.
