2002 Nissan Almera 1.8L Petrol · AJ02 LNK

The 2002 Nissan Almera presents a stable roadworthiness trend with no recorded defects across its two most recent MOT tests. The January 2023 examination at 98,533 miles returned a clean pass with no advisories, matching the January 2022 result at 97,652 miles. The vehicle shows no worsening or recurring fault pattern in the official record. The odometer reflects roughly 4,100 miles covered per year since registration, a low figure for a 24-year-old car. Between the 2022 and 2023 tests the car travelled only 881 miles in twelve months. Such limited annual use over a long lifespan often means extended periods of standing, which can allow corrosion and perished rubber components to develop even when test results stay clean. The supplied history covers just two years and gives no view of condition before 2022. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion, as the MOT record offers no earlier data to confirm long-term care. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers deserve close checking for age-related stiffness or binding after years of low use. Exhaust emissions and tyre sidewall condition should also be reviewed, since standing vehicles suffer flat spots and rubber degradation unseen in a pass result. The clean advisories suggest the previous owner met minimum legal standards, but the sparse history gives no evidence of proactive maintenance. Given the low mileage and 24-year age, verify service receipts and inspect for rust on sills and subframes before purchase.
