2003 Honda CBR900RR 1.0L Petrol · AJ03 PVL

The 2003 Honda CBR900RR demonstrates stable roadworthiness based on its MOT history, with no defects recorded in its last five tests. The most recent assessment on 2022-06-23 at 7,528 miles confirmed compliance, aligning with prior results from 2020, 2018, and 2008. No recurring issues or escalating faults were flagged, suggesting consistent maintenance or minimal wear. However, the absence of tests since 2022 raises concerns about potential undetected deterioration, particularly given the vehicle’s age and low mileage. The mileage progression shows gradual accumulation, with 7,528 miles recorded in 2022 after 6,490 miles in 2008—a 1,038-mile increase over 14 years. This slow growth implies infrequent use or extended periods of inactivity, which can accelerate component degradation. Notably, the 2018 test at 6,983 miles preceded a 2020 test at 7,276 miles, a 293-mile jump over two years, but no anomalies were noted. The sparse data lacks evidence of rapid wear, yet the long intervals between tests limit insight into mechanical stability. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the fuel system, battery, and suspension for signs of age-related decay, as low mileage often correlates with stagnant fluid systems and seized moving parts. The absence of corrosion or structural issues in MOT records is reassuring, but the lack of recent testing means hidden faults—such as binding calipers, worn brake discs, or exhaust emissions failures—could exist. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on fluid condition, electrical functionality, and suspension bushings to confirm the bike’s readiness for use.
