2004 Suzuki Jimny 1.3L Petrol · AJ04 MHN

The 2004 Suzuki Jimny presents as roadworthy following a clean pass on 10 March 2025 at 122,852 miles, with the maintenance trend appearing stable across the three most recent annual cycles. The vehicle carries no recorded defects, advisories, or failures attributable to mechanical condition. The only blemish on the record is an administrative fail on 6 March 2025 at 122,792 miles and a prior one on 20 March 2024 at 117,417 miles, both logged with no defects cited, indicating paperwork or identification issues rather than faults with the vehicle itself. Annual mileage sits low for a 22-year-old 4x4, averaging roughly 5,584 miles per year against the recorded 122,852 miles. The odometer moved just 3,430 miles between the March 2023 test at 114,100 miles and the March 2024 pass at 117,422 miles, then a further 5,430 miles to the March 2025 pass. Such light use over two decades suggests the Jimny spent periods standing, which on a steel-bodied off-roader raises the prospect of dormant corrosion rather than high-load drivetrain wear. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion, as the MOT record logs no advisories that would confirm rust treatment or exemption. The Jimny's coil-sprung suspension, front swivel hubs, and prop-shaft UJs warrant hands-on checks for stiffness or play, given the low but intermittent use pattern. Verify the reason for the two zero-defect failures before purchase, since DVSA systems sometimes mask omitted documentation behind a fail flag. Otherwise, the clean test history and modest mileage imply conscientious if infrequent upkeep, with no recurring mechanical faults to date.
