2006 Honda Civic 2.2L Diesel · AJ06 OBT

The 2006 Honda Civic presents a currently roadworthy status with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent test on 24 August 2024 at 118,109 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Prior to this, the vehicle cleared the 1 September 2023 examination at 110,726 miles, also with no advisories. The history shows no recurring mechanical faults or structural concerns across the supplied entries. Mileage stands at 118,109 against a 20-year lifespan, equating to roughly 5,905 miles per year and marking this example as low-use for its age. The records reveal a gentle accumulation: 96,751 miles on 1 September 2022 rising to 110,665 by 26 August 2023, then 110,726 by 1 September 2023, and 118,109 at the final 2024 test. Two failed tests on 26 August 2023 and 1 September 2022 at identical mileages to their paired passes suggest administrative or presentation issues rather than mechanical defects, as the DVSA log lists no faults for either failure. The clean advisory sheet across all five entries implies previous owners kept basic consumables and structure in check, though the sparse record leaves suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, and underbody corrosion unverified by the tester. A buyer should physically inspect for structural rust at chassis mounting points and check the rear suspension for worn bushes given the vehicle's age. Given the low annual mileage, periods of standing may have allowed brake calipers to seize or tyres to degrade from age rather than wear. We recommend a hands-on check of binding calipers, tyre sidewall condition, and exhaust emissions during a cold start before purchase.
