2011 Volvo XC90 2.4L Diesel · AJ11 PLV

The Volvo XC90 presents as roadworthy at its most recent examination. The February 2026 test at 162,315 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the maintenance trend across the five-year MOT span is stable, showing no advisories or mechanical faults. A failed entry on 4 February 2026 at 162,313 miles listed no defects, with the vehicle passing later the same day at 162,315 miles, indicating an administrative or non-mechanical rejection rather than a fault-driven failure. Annual mileage sits close to the typical 10,821 per year for a 15-year-old vehicle. The records show 120,185 miles in February 2023, 134,868 in February 2024, 141,569 in February 2025, and 162,315 in February 2026. The jump of roughly 20,746 miles between the 2025 and 2026 tests exceeds the prior yearly averages of 14,000 to 15,000, suggesting heavier use in the final year. The DVSA data itself is sparse, with clean passes throughout and no flagged corrosion, suspension bushes, brake discs, or exhaust emissions issues. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion given the vehicle's age and salt-exposure risk on a 2011 chassis. The same-day fail with zero recorded defects points to a possible documentation error, yet the tester should verify the VIN and test certificate alignment. At 162,315 miles, consumable items such as coil springs, binding calipers, and tyre condition warrant physical checks despite the clean MOT trail. Previous owners appear to have kept basic statutory testing current, with no skipped years and no recurring advisories hinting at deferred upkeep. The absence of flagged wear across five tests implies reasonable routine care, though the sparse record gives limited insight into intermediate servicing of drivetrain components.
