2016 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · AJ16 VWN

The vehicle's current roadworthiness is currently in question, with a clear deterioration trend observed from the most recent MOT. The 2025-06-30 test at 114,565 miles was a failure, with the engine MIL indicating a malfunction, confirming that the vehicle has not been maintained adequately since the previous inspection. This represents a significant deviation from the 2024-07-02 test at 101,377 miles, which was passed, indicating a lack of maintenance since the last MOT. The 2023-07-24 test at 92,005 miles was also a failure, with the front brake disc showing pitting and scoring despite only being worn to 1.1.14 (a) (ii) limits, suggesting that the front brakes have not been replaced or serviced since the last MOT. The mileage accumulation is substantial, with the vehicle averaging approximately 11,456 miles per year. At this rate, the total mileage will reach 1,300,000 by the end of the year, which is well above the typical 100,000 mile threshold for a 2016 model. This rapid accumulation suggests that the owner has not maintained the vehicle at the recommended intervals, likely due to a lack of regular servicing or an inability to drive the car consistently. The gap between the 2024 and 2025 MOTs is particularly concerning, as the vehicle has been in use for less than two years without a MOT. Given the recurring faults in the engine, brakes, and suspension components, the vehicle presents a significant risk of structural failure. The repeated failures indicate that the mechanical integrity of the drivetrain and suspension has deteriorated, requiring immediate attention to prevent further damage. A buyer must inspect the vehicle in person to verify the condition of the engine, suspension, and brakes, and to assess the overall structural integrity of the chassis. The vehicle is not currently roadworthy and requires urgent professional assessment to determine if it can be safely driven or if it needs to be repaired before a future MOT.
