2004 Honda CR-V 2.0L Petrol · AJ54 UOR

The 2004 Honda CR-V remains roadworthy based on its most recent 2024-09-04 MOT, which passed with no defects recorded at 159,886 miles. The maintenance trend shows stability, as the prior 2023-09-11 test also passed with no issues, despite a failed 2023-09-09 MOT at 151,555 miles. The absence of defects in the latest two tests suggests resolved or minor issues, though the 2023 failures without recorded defects warrant scrutiny. No recurring mechanical or structural concerns are evident in the documented history. The vehicle’s mileage of 159,886 miles over 22 years aligns with an average of 7,268 miles annually, reflecting moderate usage. A notable jump from 139,661 miles (2022-07-22) to 151,555 miles (2023-09-09) indicates accelerated driving, potentially increasing wear on consumables and suspension components. Subsequent tests show steady progression, with the 2024-09-04 MOT confirming no new defects. The MOT record is clean post-2023, though the lack of detailed failure notes for the 2023-09-09 and 2022-07-22 tests limits insight into past issues. A buyer should inspect the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, common in 22-year-old vehicles, and check for brake disc warping or caliper binding, which could affect stopping power. Corrosion in the underbody, particularly around the chassis and exhaust, merits attention due to the car’s age. While the MOT history shows no critical failures, the 2023-09-09 and 2022-07-22 failures—despite no defects recorded—suggest potential unresolved issues requiring closer examination. Regular maintenance records beyond the MOT data would further clarify the vehicle’s service history.
