2016 Mazda CX-5 2.2L Diesel · AJ66 XCT

The 2016 Mazda CX-5 presents a clean roadworthiness status with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 25 May 2025 at 45,233 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of five consecutive annual passes. The vehicle shows no advisories or mechanical faults across the full DVSA history, indicating the previous owner kept the car to a standard that satisfied each examiner without flagged wear. Annual mileage sits well below typical use for a ten-year-old vehicle. The records show 26,678 miles at the 9 June 2021 test, rising to 31,144 by 27 May 2022, 34,452 by 26 May 2023, 39,980 by 24 May 2024, and 45,233 by May 2025. That equates to roughly 4,500 miles per year, confirming light use. No gaps appear between tests and no sudden accumulation occurred, so the low figure reflects steady gentle running rather than a period of neglect followed by catch-up mileage. A buyer should still arrange a physical inspection despite the spotless record. Low-mileage cars often spend long periods stationary, which can allow brake calipers to seize, tyres to develop flat spots, and underbody corrosion to begin unnoticed by an MOT tester in dry conditions. The suspension bushes, coil springs, and exhaust system should be checked for age-related degradation rather than wear-related fatigue. Given the absence of any recorded advisories on discs, tyres, or structural integrity, the CX-5 reads as a well-preserved example. The clean history implies the former keeper addressed consumables before each test. Confirm in person that the brake discs are free of lip corrosion and the subframe shows no incipient rust, as these are the items most likely to escape a pass result yet matter on a lightly used vehicle of this age.
