2012 Land Rover Freelander 2.2L Diesel · AK12 CUJ

The Land Rover Freelander presents as roadworthy following the most recent MOT pass on 24 July 2025 at 139,674 miles with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend is stable across the available history, with the only blemishes being two failed tests on the same dates as passes in 2023 and 2025 where the DVSA log shows no defects listed. This pattern indicates administrative or presentational anomalies at the testing station rather than progressive mechanical decline. Recorded mileage rose from 114,388 at the July 2023 tests to 127,678 by 7 August 2024, then to 139,674 by 24 July 2025. That equates to roughly 12,300 miles per year across the final two intervals, marginally above the lifetime average of 9,977 miles per year for a 14-year-old vehicle. The data shows no standing periods or sudden accumulation spikes. The clean advisory columns across all five entries suggest either conscientious upkeep or tests conducted without deep mechanical probing. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the vehicle's age and 139,674-mile accumulation. The Freelander's chassis and subframe are prone to corrosion; the absence of any structural advisories in the record does not preclude early rust onset between tests. Drivetrain mounts and front differential seals warrant physical checks, as four-wheel-drive wear is not captured by a standard MOT walkaround. The repeated same-day fail-and-pass entries without recorded defects imply the previous keeper addressed any test-station queries promptly. No recurring consumable neglect such as tyre tread or wiper blade failures appears. Prospective owners should obtain service invoices to confirm the MOT cleanliness reflects genuine maintenance rather than minimalist compliance.
