2008 Volvo S60 2.0L Petrol · AM08 KZV

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistently clean inspection history, although the official record expired more than three years ago. The tester recorded a full pass at the April 2023 test when the odometer read 216,960 miles, continuing an unbroken sequence of compliant results since January 2021. One entry from January 2021 displays a failure notation alongside identical mileage and zero recorded defects, which typically indicates a procedural retest where a minor adjustment cleared the initial hold. The absence of primary faults or advisory notes across every examination demonstrates disciplined maintenance practices and timely replacement of worn components before they triggered rejection criteria. Mileage accumulation tracks at roughly twelve thousand miles annually, reflecting steady highway and commuter use rather than severe neglect or prolonged storage. Progression remains linear between examinations, moving from 183,023 miles in January 2020 to 202,416 miles by early 2021, then advancing approximately seven thousand miles over the following fifteen months to reach 209,334 miles in April 2022. The final documented interval covers just over fourteen thousand miles before the current reading. This predictable usage pattern aligns with the immaculate test records, suggesting previous keepers adhered to scheduled servicing intervals and replaced consumables like brake pads and wiper blades without delay. Buyers must verify the actual condition of high-stress mechanical assemblies during a pre-purchase survey. Suspension geometry components, particularly front control arm bushes and rear trailing arm pivots, require direct measurement for play given the accumulated load cycles. Brake disc runout and caliper slide freedom need hands-on assessment, as clean MOT certificates do not capture gradual pad glazing or rotor thinning. Underbody inspection remains essential to identify early-stage corrosion around wheel arches, sills, and chassis rails, which commonly develops on vehicles of this vintage regardless of surface cleanliness. Confirming service documentation for the timing belt, water pump, and rear differential fluid will complete the mechanical picture before purchase.
