2016 Land Rover Discovery 3.0L Diesel · AM66 WHU

This Land Rover Discovery presents an exceptionally clean mechanical history, showing a consistent pattern of roadworthiness with no recorded defects or advisories across multiple years. This stability is reinforced by the clean pass on 2025-08-22, suggesting that the vehicle has avoided the chronic corrosion or suspension wear often associated with this model. Even the brief failure recorded on 2024-09-02 was resolved within twenty-four hours without any specific defects being listed in the public record, indicating a negligible or administrative issue rather than a systemic mechanical failure. The recorded mileage of 77,748 miles represents a typical usage profile for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 7,775 miles per annum. This level of use is generally ideal, as it avoids the degradation associated with long-term standing while remaining well below the threshold where major drivetrain components or chassis bushings typically require wholesale replacement. The absence of significant mileage spikes or gaps suggests a steady operational history. Given the absence of flagged components in the MOT history, the physical inspection should focus on verifying the continued integrity of the air suspension and steering geometry. During a test drive, the buyer should listen for any subtle knocks or clunks when traversing uneven surfaces, which could indicate the early onset of wear in the suspension linkages. Any steering pull or vibration at motorway speeds should be noted, as these can manifest independently of the basic requirements of an MOT test. Attention should also be paid to the smoothness of the gear transitions and the absence of judder under heavy braking. While the brake discs and pads have passed inspection without advisory, a tactile check for pedal pulsation will confirm the absence of disc warping. A thorough visual check of the underbody for any fresh oil misting around the engine seals and gearbox will complement the clean DVSA record and ensure the vehicle remains in its current state of roadworthiness.
