2020 Toyota Hilux 2.4L Diesel · AO20 AEV

The vehicle’s roadworthiness status is unclear due to an absence of recent MOT testing. The most recent record dates to 2022-11-08, over three years prior to the current date, with no defects recorded. The dual entry on the same day—both a pass and fail at near-identical mileages—suggests a possible administrative error or unexplained inconsistency. Without updated inspection data, it is impossible to confirm whether maintenance trends remain stable or have deteriorated. Mileage progression aligns with typical usage for a six-year-old vehicle, averaging 6,648 miles annually. The 39,887-mile reading shows no irregularities in accumulation, but the lack of MOT records post-2022 raises concerns about unverified mechanical conditions. Components such as suspension bushes, coil springs, and exhaust emissions would require independent verification, as the absence of recent testing leaves critical systems unchecked. A buyer should prioritise an in-person inspection of brake systems, including caliper binding and disc warping, as these are common wear points in vehicles of this age. Suspension components, particularly bushings and shock absorbers, warrant scrutiny due to potential degradation over time. Structural integrity, including corrosion around chassis rails or body seams, should also be assessed. The absence of recorded defects in the MOT history does not guarantee current safety, as the data is outdated and incomplete.
