2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS 3.0L Diesel · AR03 PAW

This Mercedes-Benz CLS shows a stable roadworthiness trend over the past four years, with the most recent MOT test on 2025-09-08 confirming no defects and a clean pass. The vehicle has maintained consistent compliance since 2022, despite a single failure on 2022-08-22—an anomaly that was resolved in the subsequent test without recurrence. The absence of advisories or repeated issues suggests the car has been kept within basic legal standards, though the lack of defects does not preclude underlying wear beyond MOT scope. The recorded mileage of 141,647 miles over roughly 20 years aligns with typical usage for this age, averaging around 7,082 miles annually. There are no significant gaps or abrupt jumps in mileage between tests, indicating steady ownership without prolonged neglect. The only notable outlier is the 2022 failure, which occurred just nine days before the subsequent pass—an unusually short interval that may imply either a minor oversight or a temporary issue resolved quickly. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of high-wear components not routinely tested. The suspension—particularly coil springs, bushes, and dampers—will need assessment for fatigue or corrosion, especially given the vehicle’s age. Binding brakes or uneven wear on discs or pads, while not flagged in the MOT, should be checked, as should the exhaust system for leaks or structural weakening. Corrosion around wheel arches, sills, and the subframe is also critical, as is the condition of the battery and electrical connections, which are not MOT-tested but often neglected in older vehicles.
