2015 Mercedes-Benz A-Class 2.0L Petrol · AXI 19

The most recent MOT test on 2025-11-12 confirms this Mercedes-Benz A-Class remains roadworthy at 97,545 miles, with no defects or advisories recorded over the past five annual tests. The consistent pass history—spanning November 2022 to November 2025—suggests the vehicle has undergone regular servicing and maintenance, though the single failure in November 2022 (at 77,232 miles) was unusual, as no defects were logged. The absence of recurring advisories or defects in subsequent tests implies any issues were promptly addressed, but the brief failure warrants scrutiny of components that might have been close to failure thresholds at that point. Mileage progression shows steady usage, averaging approximately 8,868 miles per year—a typical rate for a vehicle of this age. The gap between the November 2022 failure and subsequent pass (just three days later) is notable, as it suggests either a quick resolution or a minor oversight in the initial test. There are no extended periods of inactivity or rapid mileage spikes, which would indicate neglect or heavy usage. The recorded mileage aligns with expected wear patterns for a 2015 model, though the lack of pre-MOT service records means some maintenance details remain unverified. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an in-person inspection of the suspension system, particularly the rear axle where binding brakes were flagged in the 2022 failure. Check for worn or cracked coil springs, deteriorated suspension bushes, and excessive play in the steering rack. The brakes—especially the rear calipers—should be examined for uneven wear or binding, as this was the only area of concern in the past. Additionally, inspect the underbody for corrosion around the sills, subframe, and exhaust system, as these areas are common failure points in Mercedes-Benz models of this era. The absence of advisories does not preclude hidden wear, so thorough visual and functional checks are essential.
